At the time when Rekha Thapa is preparing for the election, her ex-husband, Chhabi Raj Ojha has told that he will support Rekha in the political venture.

Rekha is nominated by the local body of CPN Maoist for Parsa-1 electoral district. In a video interview, Chhabi told that although they are separated physically, they are still working together in movies and other aspects of their lives. He adds, Rekha is his creation and as a guardian, he is happy in every success she gains.
